In The Mood To Scrap

In The Mood To Scrap is a new weekly class at Two Peas that you can find HERE.  I did the first challenge based on a moodboard by Garden Girl Wilna.

Although its very limited as far as color palette goes, I still love the way it came out!

I used a bunch of older product on here as well as some newish washi. Speaking of stash, I am hosting stash busting challenges over at the Two Peas message board for the month of January. Check out this week's challenges   HERE.

Lots of challenges and a great prize up for grabs over at http://color-me-scrappy.blogspot.com/

Here's the color palette. The twist is to use black as a background. Pretty cool with these colors!

Here's my entry for the latest challenge. A quick and easy page featuring Simple Stories Summer Fresh line.

As for the prize this month:

Let's not forget our fabulous sponsor for December.

Color Me Scrappy Challenge #19

The last challenge of November is up at Color Me Scrappy. This time it was just a fun color combo.

I loved the softer tones of the colors this week and went looking through my pics from last year's Project Life stuff for something to fit it. I found this photo I snapped on my way home from work in late December when the sunset turns the sky into a beautiful canvas of colors.

I came up with this page.

I used some OA Woodland park washi tape, some Tim Holtz tissue tape, a few lavender colored paper strips, some AC Dear Lizzy butterfly Flutterbyes, and some light blue ribbon. I loved the way this quick page came together. I hope you play along with us!

Color Me Scrappy Challenge #17

I loved this bright yellow and dark blue color combo this week at COLOR ME SCRAPPY!

Here's my layout:

In addition to the colors, this week you also had to use staples. I used my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher on my page to adhere the old Heidi Swapp ghost stars. I also used denim blue ink from CTMH and inked up some white chipboard stars from my stash.

The big "H" is from BasicGrey along with the background patterned paper. The camera pp is from Studio Calico.

Thanks for stopping by!

Disney Scrappers

I did these 2 layouts over the weekend for some challenges over at Disneyscrappers.ning.com

The Buzz layout featured lots of stars and some rocket pp from a recent Studio Calico kit.

I used the latest SC kit on the birds layout. I love the way this one came together.

I used a Hero Arts/Studio Calico chevron stamp with some white embossing powder and then cut apart the stamped image to create a chevron border.

Thanks for coming by today!

Inspired by Shimelle

I've been taking the new class by Shimelle...Scrapbook Remix and a recent prompt focused on layering. I combined that lesson with the most recent Studio Calico kit and here's what I came up with.

I don't usually dive right into my kit but product overload is in full force so I'm looking to kill this kit completely with a few more layouts!

I was thrilled to finally use my hero Arts ampersand stamp and those 2 butterflies just happen to be floating around my desk.

Some washi tape really helped soften some of the layered edges and I really liked busting out of my normal style and trying something new. Thanks for stopping by!

Here's the sketch.....

And here's the color palette.....

And here's my page..........

I used some warm and fuzzy brown felt Thickers for the title. I think it adds to the whole comfort theme of the layout.
